⚖️

Fairness you can prove

Weekend, holiday, and night burdens are scored and balanced across the group — prorated by FTE, carried across months, and shown in a report anyone can read. The end of "why am I always on for the holidays?"

📅

A living schedule, not a PDF

Providers see their shifts on the web and in their own phone calendar (Apple, Google, Outlook) — always current. Publish updates and everyone's calendar just changes.

🔁

Swaps and time off, handled

Providers request time off and propose shift trades in the portal. You approve with one click, and the schedule and calendars update themselves — no group texts, no stale spreadsheets.

🧠

Rules that match real groups

7-on/7-off patterns, night call that follows the day attending, "not more than once every 8 weeks" — even different spacing per provider. Hard rules the solver never breaks, or preferences it bends only when it must.

📄

Excel and PDF, when you need them

One click exports a color-coded Excel grid or a printable PDF for the break-room wall. Already keeping a spreadsheet? Import it and keep your history.

Fairness you can show the group

Every schedule comes with a ledger: what each provider carried, what an FTE-proportional share would have been, the difference, and what they brought in from the previous block. In the example below, Dr. Diaz draws nothing for seven weeks — which looks like favouritism until the last column shows he carried the most of anyone into the block.

VitalScheduler fairness report table: five providers with FTE, rounding weeks, nights, weekend days, holiday days, points, fair share, difference, and carried-in columns; Dr. Diaz shows 0 points this block and 55 carried in
The fairness report. Providers see their own line on My Schedule, and the per-person PDF states it in words.

Set up in an afternoon, not a quarter

  1. Pick your specialty — nine ready-made starting points, or describe your group in plain English and let AI draft your rotations and rules.
  2. Paste your roster — names, part-time status, roles. AI fills in the table; you review it.
  3. Generate — the solver builds months of fair, rule-abiding schedule. Publish when it looks right, and every provider's calendar comes alive.

Built for medical groups, deliberately boring about data

Encrypted everywhere, isolated per group, daily backups — and no patient information anywhere in the system, by design. Read the plain-English version on our security page.
